Sapphire Media & Entertainment, Ltd. is a content production platform for creative storytelling, education and family entertainment specialising in Publishing, Virtual Production and Media Technology Innovation.
We champion STEAM storytelling. Our unique blend of ARTS and STEM experiences produces unique creative stories narrated through digital perspectives.
How we began
The inspiration for Sapphire started with the musings of a child named Linda, who daydreamed of writing her own stories as she was led into the colourful storyland of Enid Blyton books.
Many years later after becoming a mum, Linda found great delight in visiting bookstores and signing up to bookclubs for her first child. However, she soon realised to her dismay that a number of mainstream books especially geared for ages 8+ were either dumbed down or too mature for these young minds. Also, as a British Nigerian with an informed faith and cultural heritage, she spotted a big gap in the diversity spectrum of published authors – especially in both categories (faith and culture).
So her mind naturally started to twiddle with the thoughts of:
1) addressing the lack of diversity in contemporary storytelling for the next generation
2) producing fresh content for children from a new generation of story creators
Her chance to do something about this happened came through a daydream (literally!). One sunny summer day at work (yes, we do love stories that start this way), she fell into a very short snooze where she dreamt of children’s cartoons. It was the weirdest thing ever, at the time because she was working as a technology consultant.
Her daydream turned to partial reality on a boring hour-long commute from work, one certain day. She cranked up her laptop and tapped away a story. This story which sat idly on her laptop decided to come to life after she witnessed sad scenes from the England riots of 2011, some close to home.
This experience changed a hobby and wishful thinking to a mission. Linda became even more determined to become a voice of inspiration and aspiration for the next generation. So her first book, Tomy the Dreamer was self-published in 2011.
Since then, she has turned a mission into a company and today Sapphire Media has launched and established multiple Titles and brands.
Where we are going
Sapphire Media & Entertainment creates stories for children and young adults with diverse messaging and context. Our primary desire is to help children have a multi-faceted, exciting, vision of childhood and learn to dream big.
Our message is simple: Dream, Believe, Live!
Our original content includes
Books – Tomy the Dreamer Series, Story Cooks series, Princess on a Mission, a collection of Prayer Devotionals, a collection of Short Stories, and more.
Magazine – Tween Holiday (A pre-teen holiday magazine for girls written by pre-teens)
TV and Screen – We are working with broadcasters to build out new TV formats using our existing stories and growing portfolio of content specially created for the screen. We also specialise in Virtual Production services.
